BuildIT Conference

On the first day of the event, the conference consists of topical lectures, which by the end of the
day will be completed with a panel discussion. On the following day, competitions and
workshops enable participants to use their obtained knowledge in practice, as well as take part
in competitions that are held every year (e.g. building a paper bridge and drafting on AutoCAD)
and visit a trade fair, where companies introduce themselves and their products.

On the conference, Jarek Kurnitski, a professor in Tallinn University of Technology, will explain
which houses are smart, CEO of Saksa Automaatika OÜ, Tõnu Linno will introduce the
automation systems for smart buildings and possibilities to make a building smarter, furthermore
Jean Carletta, a senior research fellow in University of Edinburgh will give an overview of
people, thermal comfort and the implications for smart buildings. Additionally, Riigi Kinnisvara
AS energy efficiency project manager will speak about consumption and administrative issues
and an engineer and an entrepreneur Neeme Takis from Rakvere Smart House Competence
Centre will discuss how a smart home influences our living habitat. The conference day will be
completed with a panel discussion, which is moderated by Enn Õunapuu.
